Once again, the 24 Hours Karting of Italy organized by CRG confirmed itself as one of the most spectacular and important events dedicated to Rental Karts of the Endurance season. The 8th edition of this prestigious international meeting took place for the first time on the Cremona track and saw 40 teams from 11 different countries at the start for a total of over 250 drivers. The event was first and foremost a great karting celebration, an event where passion and the desire to be there comes before the sporting result. CRG guaranteed high-level organizational standards by providing functional and important track services, such as the two giant screens active for the entire event, in addition to an exceptional media coverage with over 16 hours of live streaming. But obviously, since it was a kart race with single-technical management and karts assigned by lottery, great praise must once again be given to the CRG Centurions, which guaranteed the teams absolute reliability and the usual fun and driving pleasure.
For the sports record, the victory went to the Marline Racing team composed of Gian Maria Gabbiani, Riccardo Gasparini, Nicola Santi, Stefano Perseghin and Domenico Ferlito, who essentially dominated the race (after also winning the Super Pole) imposing an incredible pace from start to finish. Behind them on the podium of the Pro category, the teams lined up by Keystone made a beautiful double, with Keystone 2 composed of Andrea Rocco, Marco Ferazzini, Christian Resa, Alessandro Botti, Andrea Zemin and Gianmaria Compagnucci who finished in 2nd place and Keystone 1, composed of the youngest drivers (Alessio Zacchi, Thomas Petrulli, Andrea Thej, Alessandro Nicali and Simone Grasso), an excellent 3rd at the finish line. Even the Silver category, where the fight was much more open than for the Pro, saw an Italian teams as protagonists with the victory of the Team Carloni Racing 2 composed of Mauro Castellani, Mario Cioffi, Alessandro Dimattia, Gianluca Molina, Alex Pederzini and Mauro Sappa. Behind them, the drivers of the Lhasa-Miout team (Giuseppe and Francesco Cannito, Silvio Sacchetti, Alessandro Castelli, Stefano Bosino, Marco Strafurini and Alessandro Russo) returned to the podium of an international Endurance meeting after many years and in 3rd place concluded a solid race the team from the Czech Republic Blu Garage Racing composed of Matyas Kucera, Tomas Krcma, Pavel Maly, Mark Hudak, Pavel Sovicka and Troy Sovicka.
Speaking of the teams that reached the podium, a great race was also led by the drivers of the Zena Smo Racing team who achieved 4th place overall, despite the penalties imposed by the Race Direction due to the jump start. The race of the first non-Italian team to cross the finish line was also exceptional, the UKR X SD Racing team from China who fought for all 24 hours in the upper parts of the standings with a race pace worthy of a top team. The reigning champions of the Gas Racing team also had a solid race, finishing in 6th place and preceding another team accustomed to the podium such as the Pomposa Dream Team. Also in the top ten was Tec Tav Racing Team, who finished in 8th position ahead of Moai Racing Team and Wild Boar Racing. The Czech team Steel Ring Racing missed the top ten by just 5” and finished 11th under the checkered flag ahead of Carloni Racing 1. In the Silver standings, it is worth mentioning the excellent race by the Kartisti Esauriti team, which achieved 4th place in its category, preceding MGS Trofeo.
With the 24 Hours Karting of Italy now over, drivers and teams will be able to start preparing for the Rental Kart World Contest organized by CRG in October, which will take place with a mixed format between a Sprint and Endurance race.
