The karting season has reached the point where the MINI Team and the CRG Racing Team split their programmes for the Senior categories (OKJ, OK and KZ). After sharing the paddock and competing together in all the early-season WSK events, the MINI Team will now focus on the Italian ACI Karting Championship, which features a five-round calendar. Meanwhile, following the opening round of the European Championship, the CRG Racing Team will continue its international campaign across the full FIA Karting schedule.
All eyes this weekend are on the MINI Team, heading to Lonato for Round 1 of the Italian Championship, the premier national series for the MINI Gr.3 and MINI U10 categories, where CRG colours have consistently been among the front-runners in recent seasons.
From a technical standpoint, the chassis of choice for these key categories is the Black Mirror model (FIA Group homologated). On the engine side, CRG has confirmed its partnership with TM and Machac Motors for both MINI Gr.3 and U10. Following the season opener in Lonato, the championship will move to Muro Leccese for Round 2 in May, Sarno for Round 3 at the end of June, Val Vibrata in July for Round 4, and will conclude in Viterbo on September 27.
CRG’s official drivers for the opening round will be Abraham Schelvis, Adam Pirvu, Andreas Papageorgiou and Maxim Madzharov in MINI Gr.3, while Oskar Bronikowski will represent the team in MINI U10. The weekend schedule kicks off with free practice on Thursday, followed by qualifying on Friday, heats on Saturday, and the Pre-Finals and Finals on Sunday. Full regulations, along with Live Timing and Live Streaming links, are available on the official Italian Federation website (www.acisport.it/en/CIK/home).
