The OK Junior and OK World Championship will take place in Alahärmä, Finland, from the 6th to the 8th of September, whilst the KZ title and the KZ2 World Cup will be assigned in Lonato, Italy, from the 19th to the 22nd. CRG will line up the new entry Paolo Ippolito in KZ2, same category where Gabriel Bortoleto will make his debut.
After the brief summer break, teams and drivers of international karting are on track for the tests in view of the most important meetings of the season: the FIA Karting World Championships.
About a week from now, on September 5th, the meeting for the OK Junior and OK classes will start. It is the most important international event for the direct drive classes, a springboard for tomorrow’s champions. Two categories on the start: the OK Junior, with drivers from 11 to 14 years old, and the OK for drivers aged 13 or more. All the most competitive teams and factories will challenge for the title that is worth a season, both from the sporting and commercial point of view. In the OK Junior, the drivers racing for the CRG colours will be the Spanish Pons, the Finnish Hakalehto and the Italian Gallo (back to the CRG team where he already gained experience with the Kalì Kart brand), whilst in OK the 2016 World Champion Pedro Hiltbrand, the Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto, Ayrton Fontecha and Olin Galli will be the official drivers. After two weeks only, it will be the turn of the Shifter classes to assign the world titles. In these categories, that represent an important branch in international market, CRG boasts a long tradition of successes and it will line up a very competitive team lead by the 2 times World Champion Paolo De Conto. Pedro Hiltbrand will be racing in KZ as well, so as the large group of KZ2 drivers, where the new entry Paolo Ippolito and Gabriel Bortoleto’s debut in gearbox class stand out.
