For the 2025 edition of its reference Endurance event, the 24 Hours Karting of Italy scheduled in Cremona for the first weekend of March 2025, CRG has made official some useful information relating to the management of the fleet of CRG Centurion Karts equipped with a 390cc Honda engine which will be provided to the teams attending the event. First of all, it is worth saying that all the karts will be brand new, and this is a distinctive point of the event, because it guarantees chassis produced in the same batch and new engines run in together. The running-in of the engines will be brought forward before the event, so as to be able to eliminate some differences in performance and cause the engines to “uleash” in a uniform manner.
As regards the management of the kart during the race, CRG has always favored the format which involves the assignment of a single kart per team by drawing lots, without using the “quick change” format, but in the last edition it experimented a mixed format with some mandatory kart changes, from which some teams were then penalized by having to do driving stints with karts not managed in the best way by other crews. For 2025 it was thus decided to return to the origins by allowing teams to use one kart only, the one drawn at the beginning of the event, precisely because since they are all new and selected, the management of the kart within the event becomes a further aspect of the skill of the drivers, as the most experienced ones know how to maintain both the chassis and engine. This decision was made after extensive consultation with the teams, but all of them will still be allowed to use two kart changes if useful or necessary due to the emergence of technical problems or drops in performance. These 2 changes will be managed by the team through 2 vouchers that will be given to the team manager during the sporting checks. This choice brings everyone into agreement, both the teams who love managing their own kart and taking it to the finish line, and those who feel more guaranteed with the possibility to take action when necessary.
Karting is the heart of the event and CRG constantly works on technical issues so that the experience gained by the teams on the track in its events is increasingly rewarding.
