FIA Karting events are coming to Italy at the renovated Viterbo circuit for the 3rd round of the FIA European Championship OK and OK Junior. After last week’s warm-up event, the “Champions of the Future” pre-race, from Wednesday to Sunday the best international karting drivers in the OK and OK Junior categories will compete for championship points ahead of the final race scheduled in Rødby, Denmark, in July.
In the top OK Senior class, there will be 100 entrants, and CRG will field 6 drivers: Davide Bottaro, Maria Neto, Sebastian Minns, Aloïs Girardet, Clovis Nougueyrede, Maximo Toviggino, and Jakub Rajski. All will race with Iame engines supplied by BM Motors, except Davide Bottaro who will use TM engines. In the Junior category, 97 drivers will take part in the event, and representing CRG will be Manuel Miguez.
The event schedule will follow the usual format, with free practice on Thursday, June 5, followed by qualifying and heats on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, the Super Heats will take place in the morning, with the Finals in the afternoon. Track action can be followed on the official website (fiakarting.com), both with Live Timing and Live Streaming.
CRG Team Principal Jeremy Iglesias commented:
“The feedback we received last week from the COTF race was very positive, both in the OK and Junior categories. We completed our entire technical work program as planned, and the drivers felt excellent on the track, both in terms of lap time and race pace. We managed the tires well, and now we have to put everything together and avoid mistakes during qualifying to give ourselves a chance at a good result on Sunday.”
