Last official commitment for the CRG Racing Team this weekend from 16th to 19th November on the Lonato track and then the following one in Franciacorta for the WSK Final Cup, a Series scheduled over 2 Rounds open to the Mini, OK Junior, OK and KZ2 classes. The weather is expected to be good, but temperatures will certainly be cold in both scheduled events. Nonetheless, it will be a further opportunity to see the strongest drivers in international karting in action and for the CRG Team to have technical feedback in view of next season. As for the drivers, it is worth saying that Guillaume Bouzar will make his debut with the CRG colors in the OK category and will compete in these two races to get in touch with the official team in view of a complete program for 2024. The Luxembourg driver has developed a good experience in OK Junior in 2022 and this season he raced in the top direct drive class showing an excellent potential.
Alongside him in OK CRG will line up Simone Bianco and Michael Ider, both on track with the aim of obtaining a good result to crown a season in which they have demonstrated that they have the speed of the best ones. In OK Junior there will be 2 CRG drivers: the debutant Tom Dussol and Francois Kerdal, who will continue his apprenticeship in the category. As regards KZ2, this weekend on the Lonato track CRG will line up 3 drivers (Paavo Tonteri, Alessandro Minetto and Gabriel Gomez, the latter making his debut in an International KZ race), while in Franciacorta next week they will most likely be joined by Viktor Gustafsson and Jeremy Iglesias as well.
Among the very young MINI drivers, the Danish William Nielsen will make his debut with the CRG colours, alongside Cristian Blandino, Manuel Miguez and Matteis Stigsen.
Finally, as side categories to the international classes this weekend the X30 Junior and the X30 Senior will also get on track and CRG will have 3 drivers: Oliver Zwinger and Adam Bryla in the Junior class, as well as Asad Kedairy in the Senior one.
The weekend program will respect the usual WSK format, which includes Qualifying Practices and the first qualifying Heats on Friday, then continuing with the Heats on Saturday and competing in the Prefinals and Finals on Sunday. On the promoter’s official website (www.wskarting.it) it will be possible to follow the Live Timing from Friday on and the Live Streaming on Sunday.
CRG drivers’ expectations
Guillaume Bouzar (OK): “The CRG team boasts one of the most important palmares in karting and in the OK category it has always been a point of reference this year. For me it is a great opportunity to join them for these two end-of-season races. I will have the chance to learn about the working methods, both on the chassis part and as regards the engines. These end-of-season events are a great opportunity in this sense, because they offer you more ideas and indications than a simple winter test and allow both parties, team and driver, to make all the useful considerations for a long-term collaboration. I am very happy with this opportunity and can’t wait to start working on the track”.
Paavo Tonteri (KZ2): “I really want to get back on track for an official race and in this WSK Series the opponents and teams taking part in the event will be of a high level. The weather will be good and we will be able to test some technical solutions and updates in the race for next season, but above all it will be an excellent training for me as driver, given that I have been out of action for a few weeks. I like Lonato and racing here is essentially our home race, while next weekend we will discover Franciacorta, which will host a race of the FIA European Championship next season. I also want to wish good luck to Gabriel, who will join us in these two races in view of his commitment in KZ in 2024″.
