This weekend the 1st round of the Fia European Championship KZ and KZ2 will be held on the Adria track (Italy). The Championship will be divided into 2 events and will end on 6 September in Genk in Belgium. The classes with a gearbox see the CRG brand with a long tradition of victories and also in the 2020 season the ambitions of the official team and the external teams are very high. Although, as regards the driver line up in KZ, after many years of success with the CRG brand, Paolo De Conto will be missing among the participants, since he retired from the races at the end of 2019.
For the CRG team, therefore, a new cycle is in the verge to begin with Paolo Ippolito, promoted among the big names in this category after the positive winter work in tests. Just on the eve of the race Matteo Massetani was formalized in KZ with the official team. Among the potential protagonists of KZ we should also mention Fabian Federer, who will be competing with the Maranello brand also produced by CRG. In KZ2, on the other hand, Brandon Nilsson, Gerard Cebrián and Jan Pokos will be the drivers who will defend the CRG colors, joined by the brothers Jean and Samuel Luyet of the Del Motorsport team. For all CRG official drivers the engines will be TM.
The first activities on the track will begin on Friday with free practice and qualifying practice. The heats to determine the 36 finalist drivers will be held between Saturday and Sunday morning, while the Finals will take place on Sunday afternoon.
