Civico Genis - KZ2

As in 2019, Italy and the Lonato track will host again the most important event for the KZ classes: the KZ2 FIA World Cup and the KZ FIA World Championship. There will be 138 drivers fighting for the most important titles of the shifter categories (33 in KZ and 105 in KZ2) and the CRG Racing Team will take the field with a very competitive line-up in both classes.

In KZ there will be 2 drivers: Paolo Ippolito and Matteo Massetani. In the crowded KZ2, instead, the CRG official drivers will be 7: Brandon Nilsson, Jan Pokos, Genis Civico, Andreas Falch, Gerard Cebrian, Andrea Dalè and Belen Garcia. The KZ is a category where the CRG colours have been protagonist for many years and, besides the official drivers, there will be many racing with the satellite teams, as Guust Specken, with CRG Holland.

From the technical point of view, all the CRG drivers will use the TM engines and in the recent WSK race held in Lonato, the potential was very positive. The schedule official starts on Friday with qualifying practice, then there will be the heats on Saturday and the Finals on Sunday, assigning the world titles. The race will be behind closed doors, respecting the anti-Covid measures, but all karting fans can follow the whole meeting in live timing and streaming on www.fiakarting.com

Race preview

Paolo Ippolito (KZ): “We made a good preparation work for this important event and we’ll have a very competitive chassis-engine technical package. The CRG potential in the KZ classes has always been high and the support TM is giving us makes us optimistic. I will do my best to pay the team back for the work done in this complicated season for the Covid.”

Genic Civico (KZ2): “I made my debut in KZ2 only at the last WSK race, I don’t have a lot of experience so everything will be new for me. But it’s an exciting challenge and the experience of the technical staff is helping me to learn fast. It’s hard to say how competitive I can be, but we can make a good race for sure.”
