At the end of the FIA Karting racing season, the International Karting Circus livens up by some end-of-season events, which have a truly great significance to prepare for 2022 and are also used by many drivers to move up to a new category. In connection with these events, the Winter Cup, the one organized by South Garda Karting in Lonato, has a historical and prestigious role.

For CRG it is the home track and therefore, even if with reduced numbers, the Racing Team will take part in the event with 6 drivers. The important news is the attendance of Jaime Alguersuari who, after the long stop due to the problem with his ribs and the winning return to the Spanish Championship, will compete with the CRG official team in KZ.

Alongside him there will also be the Spaniard Jorge Pescador, while Ksenia Phoenix will be at the start in the OK class. For what concerns the OK Junior category, we will see the Russian Gerasim Skulanov and the Thai Ayrton Asdathorn behind the wheel. Finally, the Canadian Ilie Tristan Crisan will defend the CRG colors in the Mini Rok.

The event program includes qualifying heats on Friday, the eliminatory heats on Saturday and the Finals on Sunday. To follow the event, the live timing will be available from Friday on, on the South Garda track website and live streaming on Sunday, as well.

Here’s how Jaime Alguersuari commented on his return to an International race:

It was a very unfortunate season so far, because I had to miss the European Championship and the World Championship, due to the problem with my ribs, and it emerged after my first race in Spain, but I am also very satisfied with the performances I managed to have, both in the tests and in the last race in Spain. I made this commitment to Karting with a lot of determination and seeing that I can be competitive, gives me a lot of confidence for a full-time dedication for next season. I definitely want to have fun this weekend, but also to bring home a good result, which I think is within our possibilities”.
