This is the week of the 24 Hours Karting of Italy, the Rental event promoted by CRG scheduled this weekend at the 7 Laghi track in Castelletto di Branduzzo, in Italy. 37 teams from 8 different countries are expected, including China and Ecuador. The event, now in its 7th edition, is one of the most anticipated and prestigious ones on the international karting scene and bases its success on two key points: on the one hand the fleet of brand-new Centurion Karts equipped with a 390cc Honda engine that CRG supplies for each edition to the teams and on the other hand, an organizational machine that has consolidated high-level service standards for the teams.
As regards the Karts, it is worth saying that in addition to being new and assigned to the teams by drawing lots, they will be managed on the track by the CRG technical staff with a central assistance service, which will also take care of the refueling procedures . From this edition, to make the challenge on the track even more balanced, each team will have to change its kart 4 times during the race and this rule will also contribute to making the strategies increasingly interesting and fundamental. Talking aboutstrategies it is important to say that two categories will be competing: the PRO which will have to make at least 30 driver changes and the SILVER one, for the more amateur squads, which will have to make 35 driver changes. As for the rest, it will be up to the discretion of the individual team managers to plan the driving stints and refueling.
In relation to the high organizational standards, the flagship of the event is the long live streaming that can be followed on CRG’s social channels (Facebook and YouTube) and which, thanks to the shares of the individual participants, contributes to giving the event an audience of thousands of enthusiasts all over the world. Even on the track, the structures planned will be worthy of a large event, starting from the giant screen on which it will be possible to follow the race with live timing and the paddock village where each team will have its own tent set up. The event program includes Free Practice on Saturday morning, followed by Qualifying Practice divided between PRO and SILVER teams and the start of the race at 2:00 PM after the Driver Parade, the usual parade of drivers on the main straight before the formation of the starting grid.
The crew to beat will be the Pomposa Dream Team, winner of the last two editions and which will race with the number 1 this year.
Very interesting from a technical point of view, the agreement reached in recent days by CRG with the oil company Marline, which markets Eco-fuel for the Rental Kart world. What more authoritative test for this fuel than the most demanding race in this market segment from a technical point of view? The collaboration between Marline and CRG looks to the future to not only make the rental tracks greener, but also to guarantee the engines better performance, thanks to lower operating temperatures.
Entrance to the circuit will be free so all Rental Kart enthusiasts will be able to follow the most spectacular event of this discipline directly from the stands and paddock, perhaps getting closer to this world through Rental Kart.
